University Settlement Society

Manhattan

Founded in 1886, University Settlement Society is one of New York's most dynamic social service institutions with deep roots on the Lower East Side. Each year University Settlement's diverse programs help over 25,000 low-income and at-risk people build better lives for themselves and their families.

For Children

We provide children with opportunities for quality education and healthy lives and provide their parents with the support that allows them to work and sustain their families.

UNH works to expand the availability of quality, affordable child care, Pre-Kindergarten, Head Start, after school and summer enrichment programs in which parents are actively engaged. We do this through advocacy and policy analysis as well as by providing resources to our member agencies for program innovation and enhancement.
